RENEW is a program devoted to assisting disadvantaged individuals caught in the cycle of poverty and homelessness. The RENEW Program offers participants training, mentoring, and job placement assistance leading to careers in property management. The RENEW Program is uniquely suited to provide both housing and employment to those facing homelessness, as oftentimes careers in residential property management can come with an apartment unit.

RENEW works with Women's Empowerment, a local nonprofit organization, to select students for the program and to provide additional training and services.

Our Mission

RENEW is committed to bringing integrity, compassion and professionalism to challenged individuals as we provide the personal growth and marketable skills necessary to obtain jobs, career and homes. RENEW is dedicated to this purpose through knowledge, education and networking with the support of the IREM Sacramento.

Our Mission

History & Success

The IREM Sacramento Valley Foundation which manages the RENEW Program was established in 2018 and since that date we have held eight training sessions with an average of 8-12 students per session. Each session includes six weeks of comprehensive training in multifamily property management. At the conclusion of the six-week course all students are required to successfully pass a 100-question exam with 80% accuracy or higher to graduate.

After graduation we encourage our students to keep in touch to alert us of their progress in securing employment and housing (as needed). Not all of our students are in need of housing with their employment. Those that are, specifically look for onsite management opportunities that include an apartment unit.
